Job Description: Senior Social Media Manager (Van Nuys, CA)

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly creative and experienced Senior Social Media Manager to lead our social media strategy and execution. This individual will be responsible for building and managing the voice of our brand across multiple platforms, driving engagement, brand awareness, sales growth, and fostering community that reflects our values and mission solidifying Black Girl Sunscreen's position as the #1 Sunscreen for Black Skin and a market leader in the skincare industry.

Position Reports To: Director of Marketing

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
• Oversee content creation, ensuring alignment with brand voice, aesthetics, and goals.
• Analyze social media metrics and performance data to optimize campaigns and engagement strategies.
• Collaborate with Marketing, PD, and Creative partners to align social media efforts with broader brand campaigns and initiatives.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with influencers, brand ambassadors, and key community members.
• Stay ahead of social media trends, tools, and best practices, leveraging them to keep our brand relevant and innovative.
• Collaborate with Sr. Digital Marketing Manager on management of social media budgets, including ad spend and paid partnerships.
• Lead and mentor junior social media team members.

Qualifications:

• Strong storytelling skills with a passion for creating compelling content.
• Proficiency in social media platforms, analytical tools, and scheduling software.
• Experience with paid social media campaigns and influencer marketing.
• Exceptional communication and project management skills.
• A deep understanding of Black Girl Sunscreen’s mission and ability to authentically represent the brand.

Other Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in social media management, preferably in beauty, skincare, or lifestyle industry.
• Proven track record of growing social media audiences and driving measurable engagement.
