Job Description
The Senior Custodian position includes but is not limited to performing semi-skilled and skilled cleaning, housekeeping and/or general maintenance duties in all areas on the UCDH campus; waste handling for regular, regulated medical waste (rmw) and linen waste and perform other duties as assigned.
The Senior Custodian ensures all necessary procedures for equipment are used in accordance with departmental safety policies.
This position is physically demanding and will require a great deal of lifting, stretching, walking and bending.

Preferred Qualifications - Demonstrated custodial experience/housekeeping in a large facility (100+ rooms) for minimum of 6 months
- Knowledge of and skills to operate power machines such as: floor care equipment and trash compactor.
- Skills to use mobile devices, Vocera and other communication devices
- Skills to use computers, access email and other necessary UC programs
- Skills to work collaboratively and independently within a diverse team and fast paced environment

Department Overview The primary purpose of the Joint Venture Rehabilitation Hospital is to provide a full range of rehabilitation services designed to restore patients to their optimal functional capacity. The hospital is a 52-bed rehabilitation hospital on the Sacramento medical center campus. It is equipped with leading-edge amenities and adaptive units where patients can practice typical activities of daily living. The rehabilitation hospital also includes a 12-bed brain injury unit and four private rooms for bariatric patients.
