About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its dynamic team and support the growing employment legal needs. This role is pivotal in a fast-paced environment, with a primary focus on employment counseling and litigation across a wide range of issues in the United States. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling investigations, employee relations, compensation, discrimination and harassment, terminations, hiring practices, and various compliance initiatives. Close collaboration with the Talent (HR) organization is essential, particularly in supporting technology and engineering teams. The role demands a high level of risk tolerance, a smart and experienced approach to employment counseling, and the management of litigation in a corporate setting. Applicants for the Senior Counsel position at the company should have a minimum of 12 years of experience in directly advising on employment-related matters, with a strong preference for those with previous in-house experience at a California company or studio. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical capabilities, and impeccable attention to detail. A JD and membership in good standing in the California State Bar are required. The role is highly cross-functional, so the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively is crucial. The candidate should be proactive, independent, and reliable, with the ability to work under tight timeframes and make smart decisions. A solution-oriented and practical approach to risk, as well as the willingness to tackle matters outside of primary expertise, is also necessary.
