Fuels Truck Driver/System Operator - PT Overview: Drive vehicles with capacities under three tons in order to transport materials to and from specified destinations. Primary Responsibilities: Drive truck into position to load at filing rack. Drives truck to customer premises. Open valves or starts pumps to fill tank. Read gauges or meters and records quantity loaded. Connects hose to tank and opens valves. Records amount delivered and issues ticket to customer. Attaches ground wire to truck. Accomplish necessary task stated in NSB Contract for fuel division. Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes in order to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition. Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures. Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers. Maintain records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements in accordance with regulations. Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles. Performs other related duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position. Education and/or Experience: 1 to 3 years of fuel truck experience preferred. High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Must have previous experience or training operating this type of equipment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Applicant must demonstrate knowledge of the equipment around ground personnel. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to read, comprehends, and composes simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Driver's License with CDL Certification. Hazmat w/tanker endorsement. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds for 50 feet. Job requires the ability to perform task on all areas and aspects of construction project. Work Environment: Work is regularly performed indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including snow, rain, sleet, extreme winds, or ice storms. Work may be performed near moving mechanical parts and/or vibration. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles or electrical shock hazards. Pay: $26.08 per hour with Benefits.
