Role Overview:

As an Executive Chef at Sodexo , you'll lead all culinary operations for a Corporate Services Headquarters in Woodcliff Lake, NJ , overseeing café and catering services. With hands-on kitchen experience and strong leadership, you'll guide the team in recipe execution, safety, and sanitation. Your role includes managing staff, training, inventory, and ordering, ensuring exceptional culinary experiences while meeting client expectations. You'll also oversee all on-site catering events, driving quality and efficiency. This is a 6 week temporary position 

 

What You'll Do:
  • Ensure adherence to Sodexo Culinary standards, including recipe compliance and maintaining high food quality.
  • Manage purchasing, menu compliance, inventory control, and conduct food cost analysis and production forecasting.
  • Develop and motivate team members, fostering a culture of innovation and culinary excellence.
  • Maintain strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Oversee and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Utilize automated food inventory, ordering, production, and management systems to streamline operations and increase efficiency.

What You Bring:
  • A strong culinary background with expertise in current culinary trends.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills to maintain high standards.
  • Proven experience in managing high-volume facilities, particularly in upscale dining or catering.
  • Passion for the culinary arts with strong production experience, ideally in restaurants or catering.
  • Solid experience in menu planning and an understanding of food cost management, forecasting, and inventory.
  • Ability to lead, train, and develop a team while building strong client relationships and multitasking in high-pressure environments.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
