*Job Title: Compounding Technician I *
*Job Summary:* Under the guidance of a licensed Pharmacist, the Compounding Technician I works in a clean room environment, compounding medications at least 50% of the time to ensure smooth and accurate compounding operations. This role is essential for maintaining high standards of safety and precision in medication preparation.
*Key Responsibilities: *
*Prescription Compounding, Preparation, & Processing: *
* Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications and supplies according to Option Care Health policies and state regulations.
* Ensure medications are accurately compounded and labeled.
* Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages.
* Participate in the management and reporting of medication-related incidents.
*Site & Supplies/Equipment Maintenance: *
* Clean and sanitize pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods regularly.
* Inspect equipment and document any failures or defects.
* Record and maintain pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.
*Basic Qualifications: *
* *Education:* High School Diploma or GED.
* *Experience:* Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
* *Licensure: *Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state).
*Skills: *
* Customer service experience, ensuring quality standards and customer satisfaction.
* Proficiency in basic and intermediate mathematical calculations.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
*Physical Demands: *
* Ability to stand for extended periods.
* Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
* Ability to lift and carry at least 30 lbs.
*Preferred Qualifications: *
* Successful enrollment and completion of Option Care Health's designated training course within 6 months of hire (if required by state regulations).
* Previous healthcare or pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
