General Summary : We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Intern to join our Actuarial team. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in various actuarial and data analytics projects, allowing the intern to develop valuable skills and gain insights into the day-to-day operations of an insurance company.

Dates: June 2, 2025, to August 8, 2025 (10 Weeks)

Location: Onsite in Roslyn, NY

Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with day-to-day tasks, such as updating pricing models for new and renewal business, assisting with preparation of rate filings, and prepare quarterly reserve analyses.
• Support team projects by preparing research and analyses on profitability, price adequacy, and industry trends across various medical liability exposure types and states.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to ongoing initiatives.
• Collaborate with team members to solve problems and achieve project goals.
• Maintain organized records and documentation.
• Complete assigned tasks within specified timelines.

Education & Qualifications:

• Currently seeking a rising Junior, Senior attending an accredited University pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Some knowledge of programming such as Visual Basic and macros
• Familiarity with various analytical and modeling software such as Python or R, helpful
• Successful completion of at least one actuarial exam, preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
